Behind Enemy Lines in the NFL

Yo this is Nicky and we’re back in the NFL on a Holiday Sunday after taking a little time off and we needed it after dropping that last game at the Big House and taking a little wind out of the sails. We’re now 13-8 on the season so we had better go on a three game winning streak and it starts today. In the afternoon games I like the nasty Raiders (-2.5 buy the hook) to beat the Bears in their first game without Jay Cutler. True, the Raiders don’t have any film on the Bears backup and they may be caught off guard but they should be able to make adjustments pretty easy, stack up the line, and not let Forte beat them. I was surprised to see the number so light, and I’m looking for a reason but I can’t find one. This is good value, take it and bid it. That’s the afternoon chowder, I’m Nicky, stay in the ring and keep your gloves up!

Behind enemy lines in college football

Yo this is Nicky and we’ve given a couple back including a bad call on Stanford last week to drop up to 13-7 on the season, and we need to get the mojo going so let’s get to it. On Saturday morning in the NCAA I like the Nebraska Cornhuskers (+4 buy the .5 if you don’t get it) to go into the Big House and hang close if not win it on the field. I think the Black Shirts will be ready for DA and make him beat them with the pass which may be tough to do with that Big Red pass rush. Both teams can put up big points so the over is attractive as well (51) but you have to look and see about the weather. That’s the Saturday morning chowder, I’m Nicky, stay in the ring and keep your gloves up!

Behind enemy lines in college football

Yo this is Nicky and after another split in the NFL last weekend we’re still just under 70% for the season at 13-6 so let’s try to get back into the win column. We hit the self proclaimed “Game of the Year” last by going with LSU and the points on the road. No need for the points as they won on the field. So let’s continue not to shy away from the marquis games and get on the big Stanford/Oregon game. Because of the bad weather I see the grass going unattended and a sloppy field that slows down Oregon just enough for Stanford (-2.5 buy the hook) to get revenge on the Ducks from last year and with the Boise loss finding themselves needed just to run the table to participate in their first BCS Championship Game. That’s the chowder, I’m Nicky, stay in the ring and keep your gloves’ up!

Behind Enemy Lines in the NFL Sunday 11/9

Yo, this is Nicky and we’re looking real good with our first pick of the day as the Falcons are up by 3 touchdowns on the Colts so you can start making your way up to the ticket window. So we hit with a road favorite to start the day and I am going to end with a home fav as in the second game of the day I like the Nasty Raiders (-6.5 buy the hook) to easily handle the T-Boneless Broncos. I know Carson is getting his first start but he may actually work better in this offense than Campbell did because he is a true pocket passer which will open things up for RUN DMC quite a bit. The Broncos, well they’re the Broncos and I’m only sorry I was late to the party now that the betting lines have discounted what a bad pro quarterback Tim Tebow is. That’s the late afternoon chowder, I’m Nicky, stay in the ring and keep your gloves up!

Yo, this is Nicky and it may have been the game of the year but it was not the toughest line of the year as LSU was never out of the cover and it was an easy pick moving our record to 12-5 for the year in both college and pro, 13-5 if you count the Cardinals World Series pick. But this is all about what have you done for me lately so let’s get to it. I see some good value on the table for Sunday so let’s get to it. In the early games I like the Falcons (-6.5 buy the hook) to keep Indy winless as they’re in no hurry to get out of the Andrew Luck sweepstakes and Atlanta coming off a bye week need a victory to keep pace with the Saints who are really trying to keep the rest of the division in the race until the final week. I don’t know who the best team in this division is but I know the Falcons circled this game as one they had to have going into the second half of the season. That’s the early Sunday chowder, I’m Nicky, saying stay in the ring and keep your gloves up!

Behind enemy line on the game of the year

Yo this is Nicky back for more damage after a split last weekend so our win percentage has not changed in two weeks as we move to 11-5. For those of you who have followed me for the past few years I have always made a point to not go where the crowd strayed but to where we found the most value. In other words just because it was the Monday Night game and the only game on TV didn’t mean it was worth putting chips in the center of the table, but every once in a decade you simply gotta’ get in the mosh pit and throw down with everyone else, like on Super Bowl Sunday. It may not be Sunday but only a few times a century do we get a mid-season 1 vs. 2 and this is one of those Saturday’s so we got to grab a gun and stand a post so let’s get to it. In the game of the year I like the LSU Tigers (+5) at Alabama. Why mess with the quant side on this game, as it’s all about who will make the big plays when they count and I just like LSU’s play-makers and defense to keep them close and on a neutral site the line would be a pick em’ and the sea of crimson ain’t worth more than a field goal so this may be a value play yet. That’s the prime time chowder, I’m Nicky, stay in the ring and keep you gloves up!
