Behind Enemy Lines in the NBA Finals

Yo this is Nicky and after six straight wins in the NBA playoffs it would be easy to call it a post season but this is where we separate the men from the boys and what’s the point of the Finals if you don’t jump into the fray, so let’s get to it. In Game 1 I like the Heat (-4 buy it down) to beat the Mavericks and jump out to an early series lead. Dallas has taken control of every series thus far but they’ve shot really well in those openers and even in LA they had played just a few weeks earlier. Only one visit to Miami this season will diminish how effective they are from outside the arch and without the aid of the 3 Dirk will have a real rough time inside. On the quant side, Miami is 5-0 at home their last 5 but 0-5 straight up vs. Dallas, so we’re going against the grain but that’s the way we’ve rolled the entire playoffs and it’s worked for us so far.

For the series there just isn’t enough value for Miami at (-175) obviously the question is can Bosh stay with Dirk and can LeBron stop in in the 4th quarter if they switch up at the six minute mark during crunch time. If either of the answers is ‘yes’ then this will be over in five, otherwise pass the beernuts because this could go deep. In any case there is not enough data available to make an educated decision and at almost 1-2 odds we’ll get more value playing individual games. That’s the NBA Finals chowder, I’m Nicky, stay in the ring and keep your gloves up!

Behind Enemy Lines in the Association Playoffs

Yo, this is Nicky and after another win our win streak is up to five and I don’t see the train stopping anytime soon as patterns seem to be forming and we’re dealing with the same clubs, so let’s get to it. I like the Miami Heat -4.5 to put the Bulls behind the 8-Ball with a win tonight and go up 3-1. I know the Bulls haven’t lost three straight games all season but for a coach that was supposed to just roll out the ball, ES has come up with a crafty game plan that seems to be taking the MVP out of his game. The Baby Bulls may be all grown up but they still have a lesson to be learned about closing strong and the Heat are unbeaten (7-0) at home in the post season, and have enough vets to know this is as good as a close out game, so look for them to close out Chi-Town tonight. That’s the chowder, I’m Nicky, stay in the ring and keep your glove’s up!

Behind Enemy Lines in the Association Playoffs

Yo, this is nicky and after four straight wins it appears we’re picking our spots is working because we’ve won four straight in the Association playoffs and we’re going back to the well after a brief layoff. On Sunday evening I like the Heat (-4.5) to push the Bulls to a must win game 4. I think the mo’ on a weekend in Miami, where the finish line is in sight to justify all of the BS that they’ve had to endure this year will give them the energy to hang with the youngsters. Like many teams set up on the core-triangle plus role-players format, those role players play much better at home so look for the Heat bench to give them an added scoring punch that they’ll need to win and cover. That’s the chowder, I’m Nicky, stay in the ring and keep your gloves up!

Behind Enemy Lines in the Association Playoffs

Yo this is Nicky and I figure it’s time I jump back into the fray even though the NB A Playoffs have not played as easy as we thought it would, but let’s get to it. In the Association this evening I love road teams as I think the lines are giving too much credence to home court advantage which really hasn’t meant that much thus far. With that in mind, I love OKCThunda’ getting (+2.5) at Memphis. Even with what appears to be a decided advantage in talent the Thunda’ know if they go down 1-3 there may be no coming back. I would have picked the Thunda to win of the court to begin with and the extra hoop looks pretty good to me. That’s the chowda’, I’m Nicky, stay in the ring and keep your gloves up!
