Behind Enemy Lines in the Association

Yo this is Nicky and we’ve been holding our own in the Association playoffs this season and we want to keep the Mo’ going into the conference semis but there still a couple of first rounders left that may offer some value so let’s get to it. In game six of the Mavs/Blazers I going to go against the trend and LAY the number rather than picking it up so I like the Blazers -3.5 (buy the hook if you don’t get it) obviously an elimination game will have the added intensity but the Mavs know they have one more at their house to win it and I like the Blazers to send it back to Dallas for Game 7. Behind Enemy Lines in the Association

Yo, this is Nicky and we’ve gather enough data to jump into the playoff fray in both the NBA and NHL. Starting in the association I think the Orlando Magic will bounce back and take care of the Atlanta Hawks in game two of their opening round series, but I don’t think they’ll beat them by 10 points because they present so many match up problems for them. I know the season stats have been posted everywhere so it’s no secret the Hawks beat them 3-1 during the regular season and are 1-0 so far in the Post so this is more than just a negative trend, this is a problem so take the number.

I also like the Knicks (+8) to continue to play the Celtics tough even without Mr. Big Shot in the lineup. You gotta think the Knicks know if they go down 0-2 to the defending Eastern Conference Champs then their season is pretty much over. I just can’t see JO’Neil having consecutive games like the way he played in game 1 and that means Amare should rule the paint again. That’s the chowder, I’m Nicky, stay in the ring and keep your gloves up!

Behind Enemy Lines in MLB

Yo, this is Nicky and we’ve had some good success in everything other than the tournament and we’re looking to move our MLB record to 2-0 on the young season as I see a little value on the board so let’s get to it. I’ve been waiting to catch this falling knife for three days now and I ready to pounce on the Red Sox (-160) to get their first win of the season going up against the Cleveland Indians. I know Dais-k is a wild card but I think the will get some good run support and Talbot can be beaten at home. That’s the evening chowder, I’m Nicky, stay in the ring and keep your gloves up!

Behind enemy lines on the diamond

Yo, this is Nicky and it was more of the same in the NCAA Tournament as we were on the wrong side again dropping our record again. It’s a good thing we’re calling the NBA and NHL so well or we’d be under water so let’s try to get into the groove in Major League Baseball. This evening I like the LA Dogders -140 going against their rival Giants on Sunday night. Kuroda is going for LA who is very tough at home and Barry Zito takes the bump for defending champs but it’s very questionable how long he can go as he got in an auto accident during the week and was in a neck brace on opening day. I don’t expect him to get into the sixth inning, so the over is also a thought but I like the Dodgers to win on the field. That’s the chowder, I’m Nicky, stay in the ring and keep your gloves up!

Behind Enemy Lines in the Final Four

Well, it was more of the same for us in the tournament as Butler pulled away in the end and covered so we’ve dropped to 2-4 in the Big Dance but we still have a chance to get even if we can run the next two games so let’s get to it. In the second leg of the Final Four I like the Kentucky Wildcats (-1.5 buy the hook) to hold down the rest of the Huskies and win a close one. The Cats have the athletes to switch all perimeter screens which is going to make Walker really work to get good looks and I don’t see him dropping 30 on the UK. That’s the evening chowder, I’m Nicky, stay in the ring and keep your glove’s up.

Yo, this is Nicky and I know we haven’t done well in the dance this year (2-3) and normally we would stay off when we’re getting whacked with plenty of NBA and MLB to play but this is the Final Four and you gotta grab a gun and stand a post so let’s get to it. In the first game I like the VCU Rams (+3.5) I think the points will make a difference and their atheism will keep this one close and give them a chance to win it. I don’t expect them to shoot the 3 as well as they did against Kansas and I have some concerns about “Cavern Fever” as playing in such a big place often causes outside shooter s to have a bad game but even if they start off slowly, I look for them to press, change tempo and keep this close down to the wire. I look for this game to come to a two possession game and I like the points. That’s the early chowder, I’m Nicky, I’ll see you for the late game but in the meantime, stay in the ring and keep your gloves up!
